Hey guys! The start of the game jam is fast approaching, with Friday as the day that we will be allowed to start. After chatting with everyone that hopped onto Chatzy on sunday & monday, I think it would be best at this point if we went with the fantastical matchmaking agency idea.
Ideally, I'd like to have the first draft completed by end of day Friday, so that the artists/designers (namely Anne & myself) can have Friday & Saturday to work out how everything is going to look, & Immortal Monkey, our composer/editor, can have some time to create the music & look everything over. I'm hoping that on Sunday we can hash everything out in Ren'Py & have everyone look it over to make sure everything's running smoothly before we submit it to the game jam!
As for the writing, I think that it'd be great to shoot for 10k - 20k words. And since the majority of this has to be done on a Friday, I completely understand that that is a huge chunk of work that I'd be willing to carry. If the writers could let me know how much work they'd like to take on, and what sort of characters they'd like to write about, that would be wonderful!
We have decided to go in the matchmaking agency direction, where you work at a fantastical dating agency for mythical types of creatures (fairies, dragons, ghosts, whatever you can think of, really!)
As the main character, you have to give your clients advice on how to appropriately act on their dates, while trying to set them up with the best possible match, depending on what they're looking for. Although the specifics are wide open at this point, and I'd love to hear input from everyone!
