Hey everyone, sasquatchii here.
I would really appreciate whatever help you can provide with this project! If you have any ideas or feedback, feel free to drop by any time and share your thoughts. Right now I'm looking for people that are willing to put in extra commitment to help with this project to fill the following roles:
Route Writers: You will be in charge of writing one or more of the routes in the visual novel. This may either be the common route, any of the character routes, or the true route(if we have one). While we will check in occasionally with the quality of writing, barring some massive community objection, you will have final say over what happens in the route. You may also become in charge of specific characters, and may help in developing scenes that include said characters in other parts of the novel. If you would like, co-authoring a route is also a possibility if you work well with another person, in which case both of you will share responsibility over the route.
Idea Bouncers & Editors: This will be a less writing intensive role, and it basically consists of helping to design the characters, providing the route writers with feedback for their routes, working on the overall plot structure of the visual novel during the planning stages, making sure that routes don't contradict each other, and fixing plot holes. You will also most likely be helping with editing and proofreading.
Sprite Artists: You will be in charge of making sprites for the characters, as well as drawing sprites for any CGs(special event images). Both vector and raster artists are welcome.
Background Artists: You will be in charge of drawing backgrounds, including backgrounds for CGs. If you are good at drawing landscapes, this is the job for you!
Interface Artist: You will be in charge of drawing the interface of the VN. Basically, drawing buttons, menus, etc.
Note: I'm not entirely sure how to structure the art team, but most likely different artists will be in charge of drawing different characters/backgrounds. This, however, may cause problems with style conflicts if we're not careful. The other option is having different artists draw specific parts of the characters/backgrounds(i.e. concept art, or specific parts like eyes or accessories), but I'm not sure how that would work out. OR someone could hardcore carry and draw everything.
Coders: You'll be in charge of coding the VN. Visual novels are not the most complex things in the world, so you may end up just copy-pasting a lot of the script, but those that are computer-illiterate would gladly like your help with formatting things the way we want them . Note: We are definitely going to be using the Ren'py engine.
Musicians: You'll be in charge of making an music, and if no one wants to do this we can also find free/creative commons music. Yay for nice background music!
To sign up, post the position(s) you are interested in filling below (this can include more than one), then PM me if you would like to join our Skype development group(either here, or on the Lemma Soft Forums- my name there is also sasquatchii- or on skype, where my name is blurtleturtle00). Feel free to also show off any relevant work to help us get to know you better, but it's totally okay if you don't. If you are unsure about your abilities regarding one area, sign up anyways! Your abilities will improve as you work more on them, and it is not a big deal if things don't work out after a while.
EDIT: I'm giving you all tags for easier identification, so we can tell who's working on what!
